Kalani Laimana aka DJ Krucial K

I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, and moved to the Okanagan Valley in my late teens. Growing up in a musical family and being surrounded by incredible entertainers sparked my love for performing – and made it clear that entertaining would be my lifelong passion. I’m inspired by all genres of music, and that inspiration drives me to create energy and excitement in every mix, keeping the dance floor vibing all night long.

I’m a professional DJ and turntablist with extensive experience spinning for weddings, events, concerts, nightclubs, and live on air.

During my career, I’ve had the honour of opening for some incredible acts – including Snoop Dog, Ice Cube, Chingy, Obie Trice, 2 Unlimited, Snow, Tone Loc, K-OS, DJ Jazzy Jeff, MC Mario, DJ Wax (Canada’s DMC Champ), 54-40, Bif Naked, Choclair, Moka Only, Baby Blue Sound Crew, and Jully Black. I’ve also had the privilege of DJing several exclusive events for Avril Lavigne.

My radio show, The Saturday Night Hotmix with DJ Krucial K “The Flyin’ Hawaiian”, gained a loyal following and was picked up by stations across B.C. During its run, I was proud to be recognized with a listener’s choice award for Best Kelowna Radio DJ – connecting with thousands of listeners across Western Canada and the U.S.

My passion lies in creating unforgettable experiences through music. I’ve built a massive collection – from old-school classics to today’s top hits across every genre, including cultural music, which I’m always thrilled to incorporate. I love crafting fresh, dynamic mixes that keep people dancing, smiling, and making lasting memories.

My mission? To listen, connect, and deliver a celebration that’s fun, high-energy, and uniquely you.

Along with Kalani and our son, Kainoa, I feel incredibly lucky to call this beautiful place home – with its hot sun, stunning beaches, wineries, mountains, and breathtaking backdrops.

I have a deep passion for weddings and event planning, and I truly understand how important it is to receive timely, accurate communication from your vendors.

While Kalani is busy rocking the house, attending meetings, or curating the perfect music mix, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
