The Flyin’ Hawaiian did not disappoint! We had heard from almost all of our other vendors that DJ Krucial K was an excellent DJ and he certainly delivered on our expectations. One of the greatest areas of concern heading into our “COVID” wedding following the Province’s announcement to ban dancing was how we would keep our guests engaged and entertained. DJ Krucial K eliminated this concern very quickly by getting a feel for the room and playing to the crowd. We provided a number of special requests and these were all worked in throughout the night to ensure that we still had some singalongs and that the camaraderie was felt. He really gave the wedding the party vibes we were looking for even in the absence of a full-on dance floor. The music matched the energy in the room and really brought out the best in our guests and filled any quiet time between speeches with the right spark. We would recommend DJ Krucial K to any one considering a wedding in the Okanagan!

My husband and I planned a Hawaiian wedding and we knew right away that we wanted Kalani to be a part of it. We hired Kalani to play the music for our ceremony, our cocktail hour, and our reception but he did so much more than that. He coordinated the entre event, from assisting in setting up the video to taking food orders from our guests when the food truck arrived. Kalani was the DJ for our wedding (Ceremony at Summerhill Pyramid Winery and reception at the Laurel Packing House) and he did a phenomenal job! Wow!!! DJ Krucial K made our wedding!! People are still talking about how fun the night was months after. He had the dance floor packed from the first song until the very last. Not once did we have that awkward empty dance floor situation. He was so engaging, fun and really cared about us as a couple. He wanted to ensure we were beyond happy and so were our guests. We have had so many people come up to us and tell us how much fun they had at our wedding. I think, actually I know you had a very big part to do with this my friend. I really liked the questions at the start to keep the guests occupied, while people waited to get their food. The professionalism and the quirky little sound effects you had at your finger tip. I found our DJ to be very helpful, he provided a lot of information that was above and beyond what you would expect from a DJ. He was very knowledgeable about weddings and the order of events. As ours was a destination wedding he spent a good amount of time on the phone with me, just having a conversation about how I wanted our event to go and the order in which I planned to do things. He was familiar with our venue and did not need any prompting. He was set up and ready to go in no time. We cannot truly explain how grateful we are to have had Kalani as our DJ for the most amazing day of our lives. He really helped make the day so remarkable, creating the perfect atmosphere that fit our wedding perfectly. The questionnaire we filled out after our initial meeting was extensive, asking us about things we didn't even think of (music during cake cutting, reception entrance music etc). But it asked all the right questions so we could move our thoughts to other things. Any additional questions or recommendations we had/needed, were answered promptly as well. We opted for the speakers and mic during our ceremony which was the best decision. The ceremony was outside so with my soft spoken voice and my husband's choked up speech, our guests would not have heard us if it wasn't for those speakers! Our one big request was that, when it came time, the dance floor felt like a good time with a little bit of club atmosphere. We could not have picked a better playlist for ourselves! Kalani had everyone on the dance floor with his lineup (perfectly blending in our few requests), yet the earlier evening had more suitable music that was the right volume and not distracting. Choosing Kalani was absolutely the best decision we made through this process, and really made our long distance planning so much easier. He was extremely friendly, very professional and we would absolutely recommend him every time. Thank you!

You were so responsive, answered all my questions and provided the tools I needed to let you know what we expected for our day. Kalani your call the day before our wedding to check on us was so appreciated. My MC told me how easy you were to work with and how the two of you worked out the plan for the day. I had so many compliments on the music for the ceremony and you hit each song right on time. That was so important to me and you nailed it. You know you had a great DJ and party, when the next day your whole family (from 8 year old cousins to 75 year old grandma and grandpa) just want to go to the pool to soak in the hot tub! Kalani was the DJ for our Penticton wedding on December 30, 2011. His professialism and experience came through huge for us as we planned the wedding a bit last minute! Contacting him less than 2 weeks before the wedding, he provided us with invaluable feedback and suggestions to make the night run much more smoothly than it otherwise would have. Without much of an itinerary, he basically MC'd the wedding for us and kept the night moving along. He had games and entertainment to get the energy up and get guests mingling; played some hard to find/ethnic music; did some personalized mixing of songs to suit our personalities; and also played the newest hits to keep the dance floor full the whole night long. We have been to lots of weddings in the past few years and knew what we liked and didn't like about the receptions. One of the biggest things we remembered from the great weddings was great music and dancing which Kalani (DJ Krucial K) definitely delivered for us!!Don't go with someone who only DJ's here and there for a few extra bucks, go with Kalani and you will not only have a professional who will make it a party to remember, but you will also have a much more stress free time getting to that point. We would recommend Kalani to anybody in the Okanagan for your wedding or any other party!

I recently had the privilege of working with Kalani at a wedding I emceed at and can honestly say that out of all the DJ's I have ever worked with, he was by far THE BEST DJ! What can we say about Kalani the Flyin' Hawaiian DJ. First of all what a great name. 🙂 We could say that Kalani did a wonderful job by keeping our guests entertained, engaged and dancing during our reception! We could say that he was very patient with me as I sent him email after email with song and genre ideas to get the music selections just right. We could say that he did a great job accommodating both of our very different musical tastes. We could also say that he had a great music selection, a lot of knowledge and was so helpful giving us ideas for our ceremony, which he wasn't even hired to do! He did all of these things and more. Kalani was the presence at our wedding that made us feel that we had nothing to worry about. He started the party, joined it, and kept it going all night. He demonstrated that he really enjoys talking to people and getting to know them, not just to do his job, but to create a fun and intimate atmosphere. Kalani completely exceeded our expectations for what a DJ should be. We hope that one day we will have another excuse to hire a DJ and hope that he will still be doing what he is great at! Kalani, We just want to let you know that we were thrilled with your work at our wedding! We heard a lot of compliments from guests about how friendly and approachable you were, and a few told us that they had never been to a wedding with so much dancing! The music selection was great, and even some of our friends obscure requests got played! The ceremony went beautifully, and your collaboration with my friend Jamie was excellent. Some of the guests weren't even aware that a real person was singing! They thought it was a recording! The sound was perfect. It was great that you were so flexible, and due to that we were able to have the ceremony we wanted. Our MC also commented about what a great guy you were to work with! My biggest kudos to you, Kalani, has to do with a little incident that happened about 24 hours before the wedding. When we are at the rehearsal it became apparent that the processional music wouldn't be long enough... I was very stressed out by this point, and certainly didn't need the additional stress of changing the ceremony music! However, you got back to me within about 25 minutes of my distress email, with the ideal solution. Your "supplemental" music for the ceremony was beautiful. It was such a load off to have you looking out for us, and taking care of anything that we might have overlooked. We appreciate your professionalism, and could not have asked for a better DJ... We hired Kalani for our 80's theme legal assistant bash. He went above and beyond what we expected and made sure everybody had fun the entire night! We first met Kalani about two months before our wedding to go over the details of what we were looking for on our big day.
